Description
The Xhorse MQB48 Adapter is a specialized tool that works with the VVDI MLB Tool to enable solder-free or minimal-soldering (two wires) key programming for most MQB48-platform vehicles (e.g., specific Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, Lamborghini, Bentley models).
Key Features
- No Instrument Disassembly: The primary advantage is that it allows reading immobilizer (IMMO) data from a working key without needing to remove the vehicle's instrument cluster.
- Low Risk & Simple Operation: This method minimizes the risk of damage associated with more intrusive techniques like disassembling the dashboard or extensive soldering.
- Compatibility: It is designed to work with the Xhorse VVDI MLB Tool, which then connects to a VVDI Key Tool Plus or VVDI2 device (with the necessary MQB functions activated) for key generation and learning.
- Function: It reads the IMMO data (CS code) from the original MQB48 key on the platform, allowing users to easily add new keys.
- Power Requirement Note: Xhorse strongly recommends collecting data on a computer using two separate USB power cables for stability, rather than a tablet or single Type-C connection, due to strict power supply requirements during data collection.
Connection Method
The basic operation involves:
- Removing the original key shell.
- Removing a specific capacitor on the key circuit board as shown in the provided wiring diagram.
- Soldering two wires to the key board, which then connects to the adapter/collector.
- Connecting the adapter and the MLB main unit to a PC or compatible tablet for data collection.
