To activate the test platform functions on your OBDSTAR G3, you must purchase and activate the Test Platform software license. This feature is a paid add-on that enables the G3 to perform advanced bench testing functions that are typically handled by standalone OBDSTAR MT series tools, such as the MT502.
Using the test platform functions:
After the upgrade is complete, the Test Platform features will be accessible on your G3. They enable you to perform specialized bench tests and diagnostics on automotive components outside of a vehicle.
Features enabled by the Test Platform license include:
- Module power-on: Test and diagnose electronic modules, such as dashboards, ABS modules, and gear levers, without needing CAN bus communication.
- EV compressor testing: On compatible modules, you can test and power on a wide range of new energy (EV) compressors.
- Bench mode operations: Perform additional operations that require direct connections to a module's circuit board.
To utilize these bench functions, you may also require specific OBDSTAR hardware accessories, such as specialized cables for bench connections. The license only activates the software functionality.
